Project Office will provide the coordinator with the necessary support for day-by-day project management and reporting activities to the European Commission.

The Research Affairs of the University of Helsinki will provide support services that  include a wide range of experts: international management expert, legal counsel, innovation manager, funding officer and financial secretary. This university management support team works closely with the project coordinator and the Project Office.

On behalf of the University of Helsinki the person in charge of the scientific coordination activities is Prof. Raimo K. Tuominen. Dr. Outi Salminen is the management coordinator.
 
They are the intermediary between the Consortium and the European Commission. In addition to the obligations stated in the Contract, Coordinator’s tasks include the following:
 

Responsibilities of the Scientific Coordinator:
 

• the overall scientific management of the consortium
 
• overseeing science and society issues, related to the research activities conducted within the project
 

Responsibilities of the Management Coordinator:
 

• the overall legal, contractual, financial and administrative operational management of the consortium
 
• updating and managing the consortium agreement between the participants
 
• co-ordination at the consortium level of knowledge management and innovation-related activities
 
• overseeing the promotion of gender equality in the project
 
• obtaining audit certificates
